Premiercup Series 1 2010 Putrajaya - 13-16May 2010

Introduction

The Premier Cup Series was first held in 1991 as a horse show and competition at Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Resort. It was introduced to honour the birthday of Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia’s fourth Prime Minister, who is an avid and keen horse rider himself. Now, the Premier Cup Series has settled in its new home, Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya. Strategically located in the heart of Putrajaya, this equestrian centre is built on estimated 70 acres spread overlooking the lush Putrajaya greenery. It provides an attractive location for riders to experience a new environment.

The main objective of this show is to develop the equestrian sport in this country and to promote it to the Malaysian public on a greater scale. With various classes offered for beginners to the most advanced in the two equestrian disciplines, Dressage and Show jumping, the show encourages all riders to take this opportunity to test their riding skills and improve their confident level in a competition environment. As such, every year the show has not only attracted the regular riders but also brought some new faces competing for the first time.

The Premier Cup Series is now entering its 9th year after its revival in 2000 and ever since the first show it has gained recognition as one of the most anticipated equestrian event in Malaysia’s equestrian calendar. The show has attracted local and international participants from Brunei, Hong Kong, Korea, Philippine, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Australia.
Due to its popularity, we are proud to announce that the Premier Cup Series is coming twice this year. Series 1 will be held on the 18th – 21st June, and followed by Series 2 on the 1st – 4th October. Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya is also proud to present our eatery, Mangiamo! CafĂ©. With new and improved menu and atmosphere, we invite you to dine at your leisure during the Premier Cup Series. There are loads of prize monies to be won! So don’t forget to mark your calendar!
